NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps and ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet waste little time in performing experiments as part of the NEEMO 18 crew, living in a 37 sq m (400 sq ft) habitat under the sea off Key Largo, Florida for nine days.
Jeanette Epps processes blood and saliva samples aboard the ISS Harmony Module. She stowed the specimens in a science freezer and research incubator for later retrieval and analysis.
