1985-1991: Completed a special course on internal medicine and served as a Chief specialist at VeteransHospital in Chicago, and completed an aerospace medicine
1991-2000: worked at NASA JSC in the Life Sciences Office working on subsystems for Space Station Freedom; as a Surgeon in the Shuttle Medical Operations Office; at TsPK Russia for 12 months supporting Mir-18/STS-71 missions; as medical lead for ISS and as lead crew surgeon for the ISS-Expedirion1 crew.
