CAREER

1972-1977: Student, University of Washington 

1977-1978: USN naval aviator training

1978-1990: USN naval aviator; including four deployments to the Northern and Western Pacific and Indian Oceans logging over 500 carrier landings. He is a 1984 graduate of the USAF Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB, California and served as a test pilot at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California. (1990) resigned his USN commission

1990-2007: Captain USN Reserve serving as Commanding Office of four Naval Reserve units; also a senior research officer in Office of Naval Research 113, a science and technology unit based at the USN Post Graduate School in Monterey California

1990-1998: NASA Aerospace Engineer and Research Pilot, JSC Aircraft Operations Division, Ellington Field, Texas qualifying at a T-38 instructor, Gulfsteam I aircraft commander, WB-57 high altitude research pilot and KC-135 pilot in addition to conducting flight test programmes on the T-38 aircraft. (1994) Chief Maintenance & Engineering Branch, JSC Aircraft Operations Division at Ellington.

ASTRONAUT ASSIGNMENTS

1998: (04.06) selected as a Mission Specialist candidate Group 17; (24.08) commended a two year Ascan training programme; Ascan training

1999: Ascan training; Mission Support assignments: STS-103

2000: Ascan training; (Jun) completed Ascan training; assigned CB technical assignment to KSC Operations Support Branch (Cape Crusaders) as an Astronaut Support Person (ASP); Mission Support assignments: STS-101; 106, 92

2001:  CB technical assignments

2002: CB technical assignments; Pilot Shuttle Operations (SAIL);

2003: CB technical assignments; working on technical assignments of Orbiter landing and rollout issues for CB Shuttle Operations Support Branch 

2004: CB technical assignments: (Jun – Nov 05) Manager, Launch Integration for the Shuttle Program at KSC, Florida; also served as CB Deputy Shuttle Branch and Return to Flight Representative.

2006: CB technical assignments; (31.10) Named Pilot STS-125, Hubble Service Mission 4; Shuttle mission training
