CAREER 

1989-2000: Following high school she worked towards her BS degree in aerospace engineering then completed graduate work at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography which included near shore underwater acoustic propagation and digital signal processing. She also served as Chief Scientist during at-sea data collection operations, planning and leading diving operations, and in-water instrument testing deployment, maintenance and recovery as well as sample collection and participation in educational demonstrations

2000: (26.07) Selected as a Mission Specialist candidate (Group 18); (Aug) commenced a two year Ascan training programme; Ascan training

2001: Ascan training

2002: Ascan training; (Aug) completed Ascan training programme; (Dec) CB technical assignment in Shuttle Operations Branch (Orbiter subsystems and SAIL)

2003: CB technical assignments; (Mar) assigned to Station Operations Branch

2004: (Apr-Oct) Capcom ISS-9 expedition

2005: CB technical assignments (Shuttle and ISS Capcom)

2006: (31.10) Named MS2/FE STS-125, Hubble Service Mission 4; Shuttle mission training 

2007: Shuttle mission training

2008: Shuttle mission training

2009: Shuttle mission training;  (11-24.05) flew as MS2 STS-125 Hubble Service Mission 4;   (309 hrs. 38 mins )
