CAREER:

1983-1985: Following her BS degree she obtained her Masters before completing pilot training at Reese AFB, Lubbock Texas

1985-1991: Flew KC-10s at Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, Louisiana; veteran of operations JUST CAUSE and DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM, logging over 200 combat support hours.

1991: Attended USAFTestPilotSchool, Edwards AFB, California

1992-1995: Served as a test pilot with the C-17 Combined Test Force.

She has logged over 5000 hours flying time

1994: (08.12) Selected as a Pilot Candidate, Group 15

1995: (06.03) Commenced a 1-year astronaut training programme; Ascan training

1996: Ascan training; (Mar) graduated; assigned to the KSC launch support team (CapeCrusaders); mission support: STS-76, 78, 79, 80

1998: Mission support: STS-89; has worked in the CB Advanced Projects branch; (03.02) Named PLT STS-92 (ISS-5-3A); Shuttle mission training

2000: Shuttle mission training; (11-24.10) flew as PLT STS-92 (ISS-5-3A) (309 hrs 43 min); CB technical assignments

2001: CB technical assignments; CB Deputy Chief (Advanced Vehicles Branch) also Lead for Shuttle Upgrades/Next Generation Launch Vehicle; (17.08) named PLT STS-112 (ISS-15-9A) Shuttle mission training.

2002: Shuttle mission Training; (07-18.10) flew as PLT STS-112 (ISS-15-9A); 259 hrs 58 min; CB technical assignments

2003: CB technical assignments; served on the Columbia Reconstruction Team as Lead for the crew module

2004: CB technical assignments

2005: CB technical assignments

2006: CB technical assignments; Deputy Project Manager for a crew survival investigation team and performed Capcom duties in MCC-Houston; (19.06) named CDR STS-120 (replacing Halsell) (ISS 10A); Shuttle mission training

2007:  Shuttle mission training; (Feb) retired USAF rank of Colonel continued as a civilian astronaut; Shuttle mission training; (23.10-07.05) flew as CDR STS-120 (ISS-10A) 362 hrs 24 min

2008: CB technical assignments;

2009: CB technical assignments; (Aug 7) resigns from NASA to enter  the private sector
