CAREER

1980-1985: Attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) under the USN ROTC programme. Earned her BS and MS degrees

1985- 1994: Served as a Naval Basic Diving and Salvage Officer completing several tour of duty as an Engineering Duty Office in the areas of ship maintenance and repair.

1994-1996: Underwater Ship Husbandry Operations Officer, Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Virginia.

1996: (01.05) Selected as one of 35 Group 16 Ascans; Mission Specialist candidate; (12.08) Commenced a two year Ascan training and evaluation programme; Ascan training

1997: Ascan training; (           ) assigned CB technical assignment to the Flight Support Branch; KSC Launch Support Team (CapeCrusaders); Mission support assignments: STS-85; 86; 87; Ascan training

2006: Shuttle mission training; (9-21.09) flew as MS3 STS-115 (283 hr 07 min); 2 EVAs (13 hr 08 min), 1st EVA (12.09), 6 hr 26 min; 2nd EVA (15.09) 6 hr 42 min; (21.09) during homecoming events in Houston she collapsed twice she was not hospitalised, effects attributed to her readapting to gravity 

2007: CB technical assignments; NEEMO training; (7-18.05) crew member NEEMO 12; CB technical assignments; (01.10) Named MS3 STS-126 (UFL-2); Shuttle mission training

2008: Shuttle mission training; (14-30.11) flew as MS3 STS-126 (380 hr 30 min); 3 EVAs (20 hr 34 min); 1st EVA (18.11) 6 hr 52 min; 2nd EVA (20.11) 6 hr 45 min; 3rd EVA (22.11) 6 hr 57 min

2009: (Jul) resigned NASA and recalled by USN.
