Career:

1989-1994: Student Kachin Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots named for A.F. Myasnikov; graduated with honours, pilot-engineer

1994-1997: Student Zhukovsky AF Military Engineering Academy; graduated with honours, pilot-engineer-researcher. As an Air Force pilot he has logged approximately 700 hrs flying time; Class 3 AF Pilot; qualified diver and parachute instructor.

2007: Received a law degree from the Russian Academy of Civil Service

Cosmonaut Assignments:

1997-2000: (24.06.97) selected as a cosmonaut candidate; (16.01.98-26.11.99) basic training; (01.12.99) passed exams appointed test cosmonaut;

2000-2005: ISS resident crew training 

2005-2009: (Jul 05) joined ISS training team (ISS-15,16 and 17 crews); initial training as BUp TMA Commander and ISS FE; (May 06) assigned as FE ISS-17 BUp crew and ISS-19 prime crew (06.11.07) approved CDR ISS-17 BUp FE and TMA-12 BUp Commander; (12.02.08) officially announced prime crew ISS-22; (Jul 08) reassigned CDR TMA16/ISS-21; (26.03.09) BUp Soyuz TMA-14;

2009:  (30.09.09) launched as Commander Soyuz TMA-16/ ISS 21/22 FE; IN SPACE
