It is well documented that the American spacecraft Apollo flew the first manned flights to the moon supported Skylab, America's only domestic space station and participated in the first international space mission with the Soviets.  Less known is the fact that Apollo was planned to achieve much more including the capability of sending the first humans on flight around Mars by the 1980's.  In this revealing lecture, Dave explains what was planned for Apollo beyond the flights actually flown.  From optimistic operation in Earth orbit to research bases on the moon, to Fly-by of the planet Venus and manned missions to Mars.
