Pogue, Bill
NASA Pilot Astronaut
Group 5 (1966)

Astronaut, test pilot, educator and author Bill Pogue has certainly led a varied career but always with aviation at the heart. Surprisingly Pogue completed just one spaceflight during a nine year astronaut career, but it was one of the most historic flights of the pioneering era of space exploration. As Pilot on Skylab 4 he participated in an 84 day world record flight aboard America’s space station Skylab, jointly held with Jerry Carr and Ed Gibson until 1978, and as an American record until 1995.
